Guy Martin returns to Road Racing via Cookstown 100

Guy Martin is set to make his Irish Road Racing return in 2019 he has announced

Guy Martin: road racer, mechanic, TV superstar and tea addict has announced he will be returning to this years KDM Hire Cookstown 100 by entering his homemade 750cc BSA Rocket 3

Guy told fans he would race in the same event last year, after entering the same bike. However, just days before the event he had to withdraw his entry after suffering gearbox problems. Parts to repair the issues wouldn’t arrive in time, but he promised he’d be back in 2019.

The event in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland takes place between April 26-27.

Many people have written Guy off for both returning to Road Racing full time, or winning any more races, especially not a TT. However Guy issued a press release in 2017, after a disastrous season with Honda, saying: “So I’ve not given up on racing or road racing, there’s no unfinished business and I want to race classics and oddball stuff”.
